Cybercrime


Chances are, you’ve received the infamous email from a Nigerian prince requesting your help (and bank account information), promising a percentage of his massive inheritance in return. We all know by now that this sort of spam mail is a scam. Unfortunately through the years it has tricked many of its recipients into parting with millions of dollars.

While it’s not likely that you’ll fall for a scam such as this, cybercriminals are becoming more sophisticated in their crimes. The international police organization known as INTERPOL identifies cybercrime as one of the fastest growing areas of crime.

Your financial security is extremely important to us. This is why we do not accept withdrawal and trade requests via email. Asset movement requests (withdrawals, transfers, etc) are verified via phone call. We also use encrypted email (via SmarshEncrypt) when sending sensitive data to prevent this information from falling
into the wrong hands. If you’ve fallen victim to cybercrime, please let our office know. We can put additional

precautions in place to protect your assets with us. What else can you do to protect yourself from cybercrime?

– Password protect all computers and mobile devices.

– Use firewalls and update anti-virus software frequently.

– Be wary of open Wi-Fi, especially when using online banking.

– Report cybercrime threats to law enforcement.
